It's always something. I hear people talk about how great the 80's were and all I can see is the 18% interest rates .

Every generation has this shit, just in a different form. In the 70's and 80's planes were being blown out of the sky by terrorists every couple of years and ask the UK about the IRA.... the world is never safe because someone is always unhappy enough about something to hurt others.

That's why nothing the media says for at least the next week isn't worth much.

The race to be first rules media coverage. Facts are second to speculation and conjecture, as long as you can be the first to publish wrong information, you win.

That's why modern news coverage is largely a circle jerk of opinions, guesses and assumptions.

Kind of like this once great thread.

    Just the facts, ma'am.

And we will now cut to some guy who shouldn't really be on the news but is loud, obnoxious, and just the right amount of racist to appeal to modern stereotypes....

Sensationalism and the all important ratings. The coverage in this thread has been far superior and accurate to anything put out by the "major media". It's really sad. Thanks to all you guys that were updating immediately yesterday, that was amazing.

there's no way that any incident that happened at the holiday party could have led him to somehow snap.

They dropped their child off at the grandmother's house and lied about having a doctor's appointment.

A couple of hours later Farook is at this holiday party for a bit, and makes some excuse to leave (he was "angry"), leaving his jacket, and returns 20 minutes later with his assistant, all dressed up like a SWAT team and armed to the teeth. You don't just drive home mad, convince your wife to commit mass murder, load up some guns, grab that tacjack stuffed with loaded mags and GoPro cameras, and storm into the conference room shouting "Dammit Steve, this is the LAST TIME I'll let you say Merry Christmas!"

    It's all good.

Well I hope we do learn a bit more about what was going on, as seriously messed up as the thought process will be, in this guys head when he decided to plan this out and go through with it.

It won't change the fact that this man and woman killed 17 people. That will never change and those people have left gaping holes in dozens of other peoples lives now all due to the actions of two individuals (and maybe more involved, who knows). Maybe though something, anything more useful than a knee jerk reaction, can come from this so incidents like this don't have to keep happening over and over again.

For the record, again :D, I have nothing against the USA. I hope things get better and I don't think anyone really knows how to get there right now.

When I see a terrible tragedy like this shooting, I often wonder just what it takes to make someone so angry as to do something like this....

    Oh wait....

Maybe they just had a "friendly discussion" on an iternet website....

Before anyone else gets worked up, maybe everyone should take a giant step back and wait until the facts come out. Right now there's all sorts of misinformation and DISinformation coming forward. I'm of the opinion the news media has screwed up so much of the reporting that NO ONE outside those immediately involved in the investigation have a clue what went on. They're still in the dark on the "why" part as it would seem. Now a bunch of well meaning, but highly UNinformed citizens are trying to use bad reporting, personal opinions, and our anger over what is happening in our country....to put a story together.

Peace out guys. It's entirely possible we'll NEVER know many of the details. Let's not say things that we'll regret later.

Ok, well...that was fun. Only took two Lagunitas IPA's to clean up over 30 posts.

I'm not out to ban anyone or lock the thread, I also don't want to spend an evening weeding through comments and cleaning the thread. Please, keep it relevant and if you must cross streams with someone, take it to IM so the rest of us don't have to deal with it.

Damn they are saying the Wife was the driving force behind the radicalization of the husband now and she was maybe the leading money funder for his actions.....

Also the IED's are the same make up as others used around the World and other attacks.

    Anyone here this?

I hear the media is just seeing what will stick to the wall and running with it.

Maybe she was, maybe she wasn't. I wouldn't count on anything unless it's coming from the mouth of investigators.

Could of been one of those:

Reporter: "So was she the radical force driving her husband to that?"

    Official: "No comment"

    Later on the news.

Reporter: "It's possible that she was the radical force driving her husband to this"

Anything is possible at this point.

Having found plenty of IEDs one way or another I'd say this is media BS that shouldn't be spread.

    That's a pretty general statement.

Turn off the news folks. Zero credibility.
