Spoke with Doug lastnight, his neighbor goes on vacations a few times a year about this time, so this is normal, he said they should be home sometime this weekend or so.

question for all you 2nd gen tacos with a 3inch lift.... i noticed that when i am turning on round-about ramps to get onto the freeway, my vsc tends to beep and sometimes it causes abs to kick in and lock my front breaks making it extremely scary when driving. ive read that some people brought there trucks in to the dealer to have the vsc re-calibrated but only a few taco members have had success with bringing it in. other members have said its a waste of money. so its 50/50. help please :)

You could try that. I had the same problem but I just take the ramps a little slower and the problem went away

Thanks to Speed Freak I now have a shinny new air locker! He installed it in the 3rd member and I did the rest. Thanks SF!

Also got a new set of tires.

With the new goodies I NEED to 'test' them ;) I realize it's Mothers Day tomorrow but is anyone not skeered and want to do a morning run to Pancake Rock? Maybe meet in Alpine at 8 or 9am?

Your Welcome sir, I appreciate your business, glad I could finally chase down the dang carrier bearings, sheesh!

But at least you know its solid with the new bearings (OE ones at that!) and I took the time to make sure everything was set up right on the money as far as backlash and preload are concerned.

Have fun in your maiden LOCKER voyage, traction is gonna be awesome and having a selectable type its nice to turn it off and go back to an open diff for the street, dont even know its there until you press the magic button!

Tested it out up at pancake, what a difference! Crawled up that road like nothing compared to bashing my way up with the open diff in the past.

One question though: The compressor runs for 5-10 seconds, shuts off for 30 second then runs again. It did this the whole time the locker was engaged. I checked the line I installed for leaks and didn't feel or hear any. Is this how they normally operate or could there be a leak in the carrier somewhere?

No it shouldnt cycle, I know the O-rings that hold the pressure in the locker are good, checked for leaks, I would double check for a leak in the lines and fittings with soapy water again. It could be inside the locker but highly unlikely, the ARB is a good unit.

Mine did the same thing as yours until I found a small leak at one of the solenoids, had to cut and reinstall the poly tube and its fine now.

Its free, C'mon really? Get it and blow it out with compressed air, probably just a bunch of dust inside not allowing it to cool properly from sucking in carpet fibers etc...
