Window probably broke when it fell into the door. Something in the mechanism probably broke and dropped the window. Not all that uncommon. Happens on VW's a lot, they use a plastic piece that breaks easily and drops window.

This is what I thought right away, but so far no pellet to be found.

This seems plausible... hopefully nothing too pricey though, the glass alone is $200

See if the window regulator mechanism still works, Tyler is right about plastic, there are 2 small plastic brackets that connect the window to the regulator slide bar. sometimes they break, but not super common. once the door panel is off you will see if thats the case, if the clips are still in good condition/connected and unbroken I would guess BB gun...sorry bout that dude.

It seems to work... I can hear it moving up and down without any issues, but can't bring it all the way up because the broken window is still inside.

I was able to get an appointment today for the repair... so we'll see

David...there's cheaper places...I got my window fixed with OEM replacement glass (not the cheap Chinese crap) for $159 installed. I just lowballed them over the phone "well, I got a quote from this guy for this much" and he said "I can beat that"...mind you, that was after having that conversation with 4 different window guys...he was the first one to not try to add a hidden like $50 install cost at the end...window is still good, the only complaint I had was they didn't get all the glass under the seat...and some splinters in the seat...there's nothing quite as refreshing as brushing off your seat and suddenly having a shard of glass dig into your hand.

As an option I would check the local junk yards they might have better prices on the glass.

Yeah, I don't really have the luxury of shopping around. No secure place to park my truck every night, and I'm about to go on a business trip and need it fixed before then. I could order OEM glass for $120 if I had time.

No worries though, I can surely haggle and found a competitor quote for $180 installed.

Then to rush to get the tractor back together and see if the other one will fire so we can load them (and possibly the quads) up to take to MISS.
