hahaha I carry baling wire, jb weld, tons of tools, tons of extra bolts, lots of zip ties, and extra fluids at all times just because I know my spur of the moment loner style.

Why not? they worked fine in the katrina mud, i don't want a MT, they're loud, don't look good IMO.

if i don't get the treadwrights it's ~30 bucks more per tire for a less aggressive tread.

Yea, my next big investment is a Camper shell on the back so I can carry more tools and shit in the back. right now my backseat is full of recovery/offroad crap/toolbox lol

 

That's why the merc has the east county lean. I have so much crap in the back I can put anything back on, except the ford emblem. Who needs that crap.

 

good investment for sure, can never be to prepared. Just sucks when your in the desert and shits bouncing everywhere. One time the latches on my tool box busted open and tools were scattered all about my cab pissed me off now I just throw everything in a tool bag instead.

Ahh I've got a latched toolbox that fits behind the passenger seat. Everything else is heavy enough that it only bounces when I catch air lol. And I forgot this run, but I keep meaning to get a duffel bag to put all my random recovery shit into. So I can just have that sitting in the backseat, and not just random shit everywhere lol

My dad had two sets in missouri on his yota. Alot of dirt roads, he just hunts and fishes not too far to work. Didn't have one of the eight tires last 20k before seperating. And he spent every winter getting towed out. They sucked in the snow and sucked in the mud (we have clay). He went to a kuhmo sport track. Just my experience with those in the sticks.

I have had several sets and love them would put them on any vehicle out here or a pavement princess, just wouldn't own them if it was muddy or I drove alot of dirt roads.

How many miles are you driving before you leave? If they are half gone before you get there is doesn't matter. It you are leaving soon I would rock the stock tires since you are pulling stuff the Mississippi. It will pull better with stock tires. No use putting 5k on your tires just to run around east county.
