I have been to Chivas Falls! It was the non rainy season and I ended up swimming at the falls.

If i was 2wd I would run it down to 14 all day you have way less weight in the rear of your plastic bed, maybe even 12 or 13, makes a huge difference over 17-18. Try it and I think you will be very surprised, once you go to 15 or less traction increases HUGE!



Also check it when hot, not cool or your pressure will increase quite a bit and that 14 psi turns into 16+

17-18 is way too high for a 2wd Tacoma off-road where your trying to get all the traction you can. Unless your on fire roads just pinning at 65mph +.
Although I run at up to 70mph in the Jeep at 14 psi all the time.

 

Well, I was on fire roads. I also have about 400 lbs in the rear (2 spares and a box of rocks and dirt LOL). I tackled most of the bypasses no problemo. You can ask Matt, He was like "Jeff, I don't think you can make it up or down this bypass" "Oh..wow, you did, cool". Also, I've only got the load D BFG A/T's so the sidewall isn't as strong as an E, I don't want to air down TO far. Fully aware of hot vs cold pressures . Aired to about 18 on all tires, checked during breaks and it was around 16-17

 

Where do you order yours from Gabe?
I was thinking on just picking up washable A/C filter and cutting to fit

j/k that recovery reminded me of the time I rescued Richard (singlefin) at Corral canyon & YES sometimes the hard jerk recovery is not only neccesary but the only way it's going to happen, took 4 hard yanks to get him up & out of this shit sink hole.....

Well obviously a winch with all the fixin's for recovery is the best way to go but ya work with what you have at the time & its true about hard snatch recoveries , you stand a chance of fucking something up, but its def. not as harsh with straps as it is with chains....
