Was there a delay in the rebuild? What was the reason for the delay? Just curious.

 

Many delays in the rebuild. Picked them up from seller on Wed. Aug 3. I dropped them off at the "other place" the following day- Thursday- Aug 4. First- they were sposed to be started that same Friday (Aug 5) and done on Monday (Aug 8.). I got a call on Wednesday- Aug 10 (didn't want to bug them on that Monday- shops get busy and I've got patience.) They informed me that Icon is lagging and said they'd be done by the Friday Aug 12 of that week or Monday of the following week- Aug 15. I then called the next Wednesday- Aug 17- and was told they're done and I could go pick them up! I was ecstatic! Then someone in the background said, "We haven't started on them yet." The person on the phone relayed the message and said they'd be done the following day.

I honestly felt like I was just being lead on and they wouldn't be done the following day after so many other, "It'll be done [this day.]" I went and picked them up and dropped them off at Loftis on that Friday- Aug 19- Mike said it'd take a few days because they need to procure the parts but would be done in no time once parts were achieved. Keith called me on Tuesday and said they could have them done by that afternoon if I was ready- I had plans so had to schedule for the next day and boom, bam, done. in a couple hours of my truck at their shop- alignment too.

Now I'm not trying to discourage anyone from going to the other place. Overall, they're friendly and I hear they do great work. I just had a bad experience that left a sour taste in my mouth. Everyone has different tastes

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here and say that The Truck Shop is more of a service shop that works on many different vehicles and has parts coming in and out every day while Loftis is more of a speciality shop tailoring to specific needs and doesn't have as many customers, therefore Loftis is more capable of getting your specific needs taken care of more quickly than The Truck Shop.

 

Plus I work there and I bust my ass to get all you tacoma guys taken care of at a reasonable price... Just how id want my own truck done
