Since HP is just calculated from torque just rev that bitch up to 10k RPM like nascar. JK I know its not that simple.

6500 rpm is a bit more reasonable on the stock valves and a standalone ecu. Our stupid stock rev limiter is like 5700. I bounce off it all the time

If you are running boost I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going with dual valve springs, at 10+psi you can get valve float and hit your piston, thats not good. I ran mine to 6700 with upgraded valve springs and Ti retainers from LCE, and it was still pulling hart till rev limiter. I would keep it under 7K just to be safe once you have the new springs.

In order for the 2RZ to make 300HP like said above you gonna be in the 15psi range depending on turbo choice more or less, Head studs so the gasket wont blow and head wont lift, MLS head gasket so once again the Gasket wont blow out. Bigger injectors and pump in order to keep up with fuel requirements.

And before all that I would get a new 190 or larger Walbro Fuel pump, like I tell everyone its necessary to get a new fuel pump before boosting a motor to make sure you have enough head pressure, the boost actually counters fuel pressure since the engine is pressurized, and the stock pump isnt quite enough to do it, plus its just plain old and worn out!

Also its very important to get your fuel pressure regulator signal from the manifold not the TB. The Toyota FPR is actually boost sensitive when hooked up to a port that sees vacuum!! So in that regard there is no reason to use a fancy Boost sensitive FPR. The stock one will allow a 1:1 increase in pressure per pound of boost.

Piggybacks suck for the 2RZ, I have tried everything and the best way is to just go full standalone, but thats a big bite to take! But the Toyota ECU will eventually try and counter whatever you did with the piggyback.

My last build ended up with a Haltech PS1000 ECU and was running at 28psi, wastegate failure was the end of the road, then the LS1 swap.
Still collecting parts for the turbo system, I have most of the motor stuff (Studs, MLS Gaskets, Timing chain and sprockets, oil pump, upgraded my Rocker trunions)
Been racing motorcycles so much I dont have much money to put into the truck for the past year or so..but one of these days..

I was just making a joke toward hp and RPMs. How much drivetrain loss is there with a LT truck on 35s? 300 RWHP would be like 375-400 HP at the crank right? Thats one bad ass 4 banger.

Kinda depends on that particular trucks parasitic load, if ya have a 9" that is a power soaker!! Probably 10%+ right off the top for that alone. Then trans, an auto sucks a ton of power too.

Thanks for all the good info Jason. I have a new 190 already in the tank. I'll move that fpr line to the mani. Looks like I'm keeping her under 10 for the time being. I might do 440 or 550 injectors when I start running out of room on the pinks. So far the mapecu3 is being nice to me. It is really easy to work with. I'll let you say I told you so if I do blow the motor cuz of it. But if I do go over 10 I'm going to get away from the eBay turbo first. I don't trust it much over spring pressure. Prolly a 50 trim t3 t4 turbonetics.

I caught your drift earlier. But I'm just putting lipstick on a pig for the time being. All I know is my setup is already eating plenty of power. Right now I'm happy I can do 5th up a hill. I should do a dyno pull one day for kicks show you how low my numbers are.

Sorry about that, I deal with my sisters boyfriend all the time that sees 400hp in an article and dogs my v8 numbers not realizing the 400hp is at 8k+ and the motor only makes 300 ft lbs. I was asking about the loss because I saw Alex say he wanted 300 RWHP and was wondering what it would take.

I bet you put out close to what I put out, you guys make me miss my 4 banger.

    SUN. NOV. 9 @ 4 PM PST
    SUN. NOV. 9 @ 11 PM PST
    TUE. NOV. 11 @ 1 AM PST
    SUN. NOV. 16 @ 12 PM (NOON)

Enjoy Baja on TV: scenery, supporting the orphanages, off road travel, the old Spanish missions and more!

I have no idea how much I am in this, but Cameron said I made the cut. As you recall from last June, when I was invited to come along for 3 days of their week + tour of the missions and off road trails, Cameron Steele had me provide some history of the missions in person at two of the missions (Santo Domingo and El Rosario).

There were about 50 people on the tour driving Ford Raptors, Toyota Tundra, Jeep Wrangler, Ford, and Dodge trucks... plus the chow trailer and helicopter.

It was a fun 3 days for me with a bunch of great people.

Me when the cameras were rolling at Mission Santo Domingo...

Do you call me that? LOL... What about Mr. Baja or Señor Baja ?? LOL

You can just call me Dave or David, that is fine... On Baja Nomad (where everyone loves Baja) they sometimes call me DK (if not worse things, lol).
