Yesterday was the same except there was no wind and it was a dust bowl. Hit a little jump on the back side and people seemed to stop and spend their attention my way. Although there were way too many new people out there riding and I only went out there to play for 2 or so hours and still noticed it.

I was camped out off cahuilla trail, there were a lot of stupid people that couldn't even follow the basic 15 mph on the trail and around the camp sites.

It was busy out there. I camped out in the middle of no where south of the park. I mostly rode the dirt bike in areas where no one rides. I only drove the truck just a little bit since I didn't want to run over done idiot.

We would go to glamis and always get a dawn patrol run in to look for wrecked trucks and people still out from the night before. Then by 10am or so just watch the idiots from a distance.

Figure 35-45$ for a decent tow strap, that shackle is probably 15 bucks minimum, and you get a set of gloves and the cool little carrying case. Seems like a pretty decent deal

Not bad. The gloves are nice to have. I've used mine a few times.

For towing yes. If you need to yank someone out of mud or sand that thing has little to no stretch and will cause a lot of stress to the recovery point and driveline.

Thanks for the input. Any recommendation for a good recovery strap then?

Bubba ropes are nice. It doesn't take much grunt to do a lot because the rope stretches and does work for you. Also if the tow truck gets buried trying to pull there is usually enough stretch in the rope to help pull it back to unhook.

I have a 74k one for my motor home. I have never used it but have loaned it to some stuck people and watch some small truck pull out toy haulers and rvs.

Bubba Rope, ASR Kinetic Rope, Masterpull, Etc all have options.

Essentially you are looking for a Snatch Rope with stretch. I have an 1.25" 30' ASR, as the price was the best for a 50k breaking load.

Thanks Jeff for helping me out support the valance after I cut it for the light bar, zero noise on the freeway and I bet it could take more than a couple bushes. Glad I went with a Rigid too can't beat the light output for the price i paid
