I gusseted them, however I believe they were bent pre install, didnt seem obvious at the time when we looked at them, but now its very noticeable.

Or possibly they got bent even with the gussets.

If the gussets fit flush when they were installed then they probably bent afterwards. Maybe the cast part was compromised

Possibly, wasnt my first rodeo, didnt seem bent at the time, I always trim just a tad but it was just like all the others I have done, at least 10 pairs so far.

I always take the extra time to get a tight fit since they never come dead on.

Even with gussets they can bend. There has to be a weak link somewhere.

Oh boy, what did you do to your new baby?

I thought only Ford Raptors broke their spindles with ease?

Make sure the helicopter is close by to get a replacement fast... when you are hundreds of miles down in Baja!

Definitely not your fab work brother. They were most likely bent at Lucerne before we put the gussets on. They probably just fatigued after that and really bent. I'm brining my next set to you to gusset again.

No problem Matt, I got your back buddy!

Just got back from Spangler and raced in the Jackrabbits Hare and hound, ended up top 10 Overall, was a wet muddy miserable race, I finished in just under 3 hours and it was an 87 mile race that turned into an absolute mudfest!

Didnt even wear goggles because the rain was so bad so that made things interesting

Still killed it though, not bad for a 42 year old hobbit! I'll snap some pics of my bike tomorrow so you understand what I mean, haha!

Only 1 small crash when I clipped a rock with the rear tire hidden in 6" of mud but only lost about 15 seconds. I won my class, but I wanted the Overall damnit!

Getting off the Chemo is helping me get my strength back slowly, I hate taking that crap!!!! But Im not using that as an excuse for not Overalling the race though. Excuses are for pussies!

hope all you guys had a great weekend!!!

Could anyone help me out with some tools?
I'm prepping for a rear diff overhaul and ARB locker install but I can't find most of the specialized tools for rent.
I'm looking for the following of Zuk's list of tools:

    Side bearing puller
    [IMG]

    Bearing Splitter
    [IMG]

    and the 12-ton press
    [IMG]

Just looking to rent them for this coming weekend, if possible!
Let me know if anyone has anything or can help point me to them.
    Located in North County, btw.
    Thanks!

I have the press and bearing splitter, but I usually just take a die grinder to cut off the old carrier bearings, if you r just looking to change the bearings I can do it while you wait. I'm in Vista.

Next week my Tacoma will be at the dealership getting a new clutch (37K miles) and a set of 5100s and eibachs. While the truck is in the shop, I will be spending the week at MCRD in San Diego. My son graduates from basic and we are going out a few days early to see the sights. It's been 30 years since I've been to San Diego. We will be staying in billeting on MCRD. Can anyone recommend some good seafood restuarants in that area? Easy to get to from the airport area is appreciated.

Island Prime is right by the airport/MCRD and has some of the best seafood in San Diego. C Level is the outdoor section of the restaurant and has unbelievable views of the harbor.

Congrats on your son's graduation and earning the title.
