Yeah. The gusset is holding fine. Just not bombable IMO until someone looks at it.

I'm doing well, just staying busy with work and other things life has presented me. My truck is great, haven't really done any mods in the past 3 years but I've got the itch to get out and tackle some trails soon.

OK... after going to Pep Boys, Discount, Evans, Tires 4 Less, Express, and drove by two others... I went with Discount... Not as cheap as Pep Boys, because of the pro-rated life still on the Dakotas, but worth the extra $$ for not having to deal with Pep Boys sloppy business ethics and wait times they put me through when I bought the Dakotas 22,000 miles ago.

I took pic of the Dakotas and will add them to my post made in 2013 when I bought them.
Tomorrow, brand new Hankook Dynapro ATMs (265/75-16) once again (I liked them that well before).
Edited to add Express Tire, I was so disappointed with the sales help there I easily forgot to add their name. I bought Cooper tires from them too! The guy couldn't find anything to quote me a price on and had nothing to show me in the store.

David, did you even try to tell them you want to get what Discount Tire gets from Direct? Tire shops like to haggle with competition but they rarely see it because majority of the people don't know jack diddly squat about their car in the first place.

Hankook makes a good tire. Back in the day when I was delivering tires they were my favorite mt. Second.d favorite oddly enough is an off brand adventuro mt which had a very unique tread pattern, and cost a lot less. Never kept them long enough to see how long they lasted though

I wish the discount tire in my area was good. They have the highest mount and balance prices of all the tire shops around me. Plus the sales guys I all want to punch in the face. I think they get a lot of fleet contracts near them they basically tell me to f off. I always get my tires online from dtd usually just mount elsewhere.

Yes, thank you... I asked for the Discount Direct deal... and he was impressed and dropped the price further. Hey, a business has got to make a profit to stay in business... but it doesn't hurt to ask for better pricing. I am getting 4 Dynapro ATM 265/75-16 tires installed, taxed, filled with air, for ~$500 + ~$80 for the full balls warranty deal.

Odometer today: 73,500... let's see how long these last before they start getting flats. Last set of Dynapros went 31,000 miles. The Destiny Dakotas only went 22,000 miles.

Talked to the General Tire southwest district manager this weekend and the AT2 is not being discontinued. A revamped tire is scheduled to come out in 2 to 4 years based on their current schedule. So we are a long time off from that. Sounds like Discount may not have the right info.

Sounds like me and tires, (BFG AT - 25k) (BFG MT - 40k) (Duratracs - 20k+ currently) once they reached the numbers I posted they were pretty worn to the point of borderline unsafe.

Shock mounts? Are you gonna leave the welds visible on the outside?

Looks like he's maybe going to do a plate over the side plate

shock mounts are for pussies!, yes I've got two more overlay plates on each side. The welds for the gussets will be covered with the overlay plates. 3/16 with the final 3/16 overlay plate will tie it all in together.
