San Diego BS Thread.

Ocotillo wells is just rough out there summer nights. When it cools down to 95 at night I can live with that, but over 100 is rough on the truck and not fun taking breaks at the stops

 

Upgraded to a dual battery setup from @HeliMedic / off-grid engineering and now I have a year-old 27f battery looking for a home. It's supposed to be picked up by the hazardous waste pickup on Tuesday; if you're interested in taking it off my hands and are willing to meet me somewhere in north San Diego this week, I'll set it aside for you. If you're feeling charitable you can even toss me a few bucks, but most importantly I'd hate to send a battery with a lot of life left to the scrap pile.

 

When's the next meet ?

 

I'll have the stock at my door from McMaster tomorrow so anytime this week early morning or afternoon would work if that works for you, too. I'm in Scripps and I understand you're in Vista so that drive is only 20 minutes at most for me -- give or take a few. We'll probably need to sand the rack and cut the stock down to fit. Anyhow, that's all details we can discuss later. What days/time work best for you this week?

If this helps, the green bars in the pictures attached are where I'd like to have the pieces welded on both rear sides of the rack. They're .5" thick and 2" wide.

Like an actual meet In the dirt with off-road trucks? I don't think anyone does that here, they just meet in a parking lot somewhere

Not yet. June 1st moving to Encinitas for a month then June 24th moving to San Marcos. I'll be pretty damn close to Escondido
