I want to thank Jason, 'Speed Freek' for doing my conversion to synthetic oil today, great job!

Leaving in the morning with 3 other 4x4 Toyotas on an 11 day, 1,700 mile expedition. I just wanted everything up to speed in my 2010 Tacoma.

    New spark plugs (NGK)
New Gear oil in the diffs and transfer case (Mobil 1, 75-90)
New ATF synthetic in the tranny
New synthetic oil in the engine (5W-40)

Anyone know of quality shops in SD that can tear down the front suspension and do ICON coilover rebuilds in a day (broken seal and swapping in higher rated KING springs)? I don't have any spare coilovers that'll work with my drop-bracket lift kit so I can take the coilovers and send them into a shop for rebuilding (eg. DSM).

Try Jason @speedfreek. He is independent and works in Vista from his home. He does great work and can usually do any job within a few hours.

I brought a set of Icon shocks to ORW, they had it done in a day. Granted they ordered the wrong seal kit, I had to buy that from DSM. The whole time the guy behind the counter bascially bashed Icon and was stroking Fox which was pretty annoying.
Not sure if I'd take them there again because of their counter people, but if you need it done in a day they can do it and they're not leaking so there's that.

The Truck Shop in Miramar area is a quality shop. You should check them out.

I called them first when I had mine rebuilt, they don't stock the rebuild kits and have "a wall of seals we can just match up the size". Realistically that would be just as good, I just wanted to use Icon parts in the Icons. But they can do it in a day if I remember correctly. Great pricing as well

Thanks for the referrals, but I dont mess with the Icons because some use odd sized seals and some as well have a proprietary nitrogen fill plug that uses a fill needle that I dont have..sorry!!

I can do just about everything else under the sun though, lol

Anyone know where I can go shooting outdoors now that BLM is closed for fire season? Heard a couple places in desert and maybe a few spots in Laguna? Not trying to get a ticket or my gun confiscated just an uncle of mine who hasnt shot since the marines in the 70's is coming to down in time for my ar15 to be finished. If anyone wouldnt mind helping me out with a spot you wont have to worry about me burning it out or leaving it dirty.

    Hey Other Rick,
I ride my dualsport out at Otay Mountain truck trail and people shoot out there all the time. There's also South Bay Rod and gun club close by.

Its official, I feel the seasons changing, time for more desert! I might be putting on a little meetup in Ocotillo Wells in Oct/Nov, last time I did that was several years and had quite a few guys come out, should be a lot of fun, I will keep ya guys posted on when it is so we can go out and play.

And we can shoot out there on the S.side of the railroad tracks, there are a few spots with a really long standoff range for guys with big bore rifles BTW.
