You cannot own any magazine larger than ten rounds in CA. Even those grandfathered in are unlawful now. Otherwise... You can own off roster handguns since you're moving here. You just have to register them when you move. Pm me if you have more questions.

 

Not true. You can own off roster guns. Just can't buy them new as a CA resident. But if he legally acquired them as a WA resident, he can legally own them and register in CA once he moves here. Just cannot possess any magazine larger than 10 rounds. Leave those on WA.

 

You can bring all your pistols with you. Just make sure you leave any standard capacity mags that hold more than 10 rounds out of state.

This is not correct. The roster only applies to new purchases. He could move here with an off roster handgun and sell it to you if he likes.

The only restriction as far as a roster would apply to ar lowers.
