So I bought a used chipper on Saturday and its Sketchy AF! I have to start the engine first and then slip the belt on while the pulley is spinning, not exactly what expected (bought it used as an unfinished project) but I hope it works, it used to be a chipper connected to a PTO on a tractor swapped over to a small trailer with an 18hp motor on the back.
This should make life a bit more exciting....

Hahaha....she's been quiet ever since I spoke with her son, I think he may have talked some sense into her. lol.

Im just trying to keep from throwing my self into it on accident!! It surely wouldn't pass OSHA standards. It seems like it wants to kill me. Oh well at least I shouldnt need to use it on a daily basis!
Oh well, should get the job done, or at least I will soon find out when I finally get a spare moment..however being somewhat home made its pretty damn sketchy, all those spinning parts going 200+ mph inside make me a little nervous when Im in the firing line, ha!

Just make sure not to get any of that poison oak in there, it can make the oils airborne.

This ! airborne oils from poisonous plants are very dangerous because you can inhale them via a mist or smoke if burning...yup imagine having poison oak in your sinuses or lungs. A lot of people don't realize that eucalyptus oil is toxic as F when it is burned and inhaled too, you have to let eucalyptus dry out forever before it is safe to burn.

I just got hit by sumac sap again a couple weeks ago, knew better...was really careful but still managed to get some on me somehow ? via a tool or glove maybe ?

If anyone is into mountain biking and likes trails with a ton of jumps and berms and is willing to put in some trail work shoot me a PM. I have a private trail on 50 acres out in Ramona and I could always use trail work volunteers...just have a strict No Dig - No ride policy so serious inquiries only must be willing to man a shovel and throw some rocks for a few hours before riding...this -

    Still looking for stuff?

Yeah I was thinking about all the dust after I threw a few branches into it, I better wear a respirator. I did it yesterday afternoon for a couple minutes so Im hoping I dont start to feel the itch anywhere. Its really no fun at all dealing with invisible poisonous oils..and I can seemingly roll around in Sumac, for some reason it doesnt seem to bother me like the PO does!

I can do the whole job if you need, but it sounds like you can do it yourself, I only have one tool and cant really lend it out I use it so much.
I am sure there are tons of them floating around from members that did it themselves as well.

Yep, I cant wait till all that crap is gone, or at least mostly gone! Not a huge fan of it so much. Stuff ruins me for weeks every time I touch it, yet Im around it all the time, so much for risk management! Haha.

the only part of sumac that will get ya' is the sap, you can literally rub the leaves on your face...but one dot of the sap and I've got blisters within 24hrs

In that case I wont try and roll in it! I'll chalk it up to being lucky so far then, I would rather not experience it...
