Is this something we’ll hear about on the news? ‘Local man blows tire into ocean, from 30 miles away’

Nah..a launch is doubtful as the energy is kinda 360 degrees vs focused downward

Gotta be careful with tractor tires seeing as their side wall is normally 40 ply.

    Doing okay, thanks.

We moved from Oceanside near your home to San Marcos for 5 years and 3 months ago bought our own place closer to Fallbrook.

In 2016, I published my own book about the missions in Baja to greatly expand on the data in the 2012 book I co-authored that you have, which includes the missions in Alta California. Link in my signature for the newer book.

My truck now has 117,000 miles and is 9 years old. My wife just traded her 2015 Corolla for a 2019 two days ago.

So here is how it went down...well the Tractor tire bead mounting I mean.

I sprayed about 15ish seconds worth of Brake clean aerosol into the tire while prying the bead away from the wheel, gave it a good circumference spray (not pried open) with said brake cleaner so it would ignite the surface, and well exactly what I thought would happen, happened.... not a damn thing, except for the bead lighting on fire giving me a great view of a campfire! So what exactly was the problem?

Well ratio was the problem!! Remember we need proper oxygen to fuel ratio + ignition to make this happen, well, I had both! However they were being separated between the sidewall of the tire and the bead itself!

So as the tire bead was flaming I figured introducing some oxygen into the tire by a swift kick sounded good to make this environment happen! I kicked the tire pretty hard to make sure I covered all ratios possible hoping along the way it would ignite, and it popped like a 12 gauge magnum round! POP! And on the bead it was! I quickly added some air to make sure it STAYED on the bead (Pro-tip: air WILL cool quickly after this method and looses volume!) So yeah it was 1st try and went far easier than anticipated!

I didn't die, it was a good day.
And no video because I didnt think it would work 1st try, haha! Well, I still have to do the other side and Ill do it the same way so Ill get that one!

Just got done cutting emergency trenches from the rain with the backhoe holding a flashlight in my teeth, things got nasty today..Ugh this rain made my yard a mud pit!!! I cant even move my own truck out of my shop its so bad!
    Hope your all doing well!

You are a Baja champ! I wish I could find a video of when it worked for me, using gasoline... POOF!
HB Murphy tried it first and I did film the attempt. Next, it was my turn... a bit more gasoline poured into the tire than before, and BOOM! The tire was beaded... Viva Baja!

I was kind of forced to do it, I knew the rain was gonna just keep on dumping and boy, it sure did!!!!

Well, now at least I know how to route the water (mostly) around the property to direct it toward its destination!! The creek that sorta meanders through my lower property at one time, maybe 20+ years ago was a full time creek, now its just a part timer, I really need to install a culvert BADLY now, it almost washed the gravel away from my driveway if I didnt pack a bunch of sandbags to try and keep the rock from being all washed away.

I tried to cut a new ditch so the water could travel in a straight path but I kept getting the little tractor stuck and had to use the bucket to walk myself out.

Yesterday was a WET day for me, lol.

So now I have this 6" thick mudbog which is my entire lower property, gonna have to go out and see if I can do enough tractor work to make a safe trail that goes from the road to the shop, lol. There is NO way a person could get up there in a truck now, even my 4wd tractor slips and slides around. A bit too much clay

Thanks for all the input fellers! So any crossfit guys out there that wanna remove my other tire, hahahaha!!

Geez, I really gotta do something about covering my shop with a roof (even temporary, and make a gravel driveway so I can work on shitty days, never got to it this summer, officially been here 14 months at the new place, got a lot done but a LOT more to do before its dialed in..

I figured the more flags I put out the more attention I would get.
