    Check My Sig.
They closed the West side entrance last I tried to go out there.

Boarder security or something of the sort.

there’s a sign that says to use the East entrance but I didn’t want to drive all the way around the mountain to find out

I recently left a company that I had been with for close to 40 years. I went with Toyota Insurance when I bought my new 2024 4Runner. I saved over $1,000+ on the new 4Runner and my wife's
Tesla Model 3 annually. The people at www.toyotainsurance.com were on it. Made it easy to obtain a quote and set up a new policy. Bye Bye Farmers Insurance!

Yep, they keep the gate closed now. But you can go around - follow Alta Road past the jails to this trail, N32 35.488 W116 54.833. The gate next to the campground is also closed but you can get a key at the store - this according to my neighbor that bikes up there. Alternatively, take Marron Valley Rd, where east end of the truck trail ends, or begins if starting there.

Yesterday an Otay water guy told me they have been told to call sheriff to enforce no trespassing there. The gates that were put up (then promptly destroyed) may soon be replaced.

ETA- I'm talking about Alta by the prisons

Where is this pool? I know there are fenced vernal pools on the west side of the facilities, on County land. The area to the east of Alta Rd, once on top, is BLM. Once you reach the BLM section, nothing much the sheriff can do. I was last up there about three months ago and saw no gates or signs to access the coords I posted. About 100 feet past those coords is BLM.
You can confirm BLM lands here, click on interactive map link:

The "pool" is NW about 100 yards of the location you get the coordinates for. I sais pool because I dont know what it is. A fenced in area with a lock on the get frequented by trucks that saw otay water, or some such.
BLM maps show the area of your coordinates to NOT be BLM.
Yes, once on top, but you have to get there first.

Me walking through your hose to get to the park behind it is not OK if you tell me not to, no matter how many times I do it and dont get caught

@cwadej I think that is a reservoir, and it is fenced. There are dirt trails that head to the west and north that I can see being closed off. The access point to BLM from Alta Rd had never been an issue. Someone will need to check it out in person. I plan on another trip in fall.

A year or so ago 2 gates were put up at
    32.590631, -116.915322 and about
    32.585681, -116.912158

The first one by the reservoir was promptly destroyed, within days. They were not closed, just put in place. I'm sure BP and the water people would be given keys if they were closed and locked. I'm out there every week cleaning up. BP told me a year ago the owner is tired of the place being destroyed so he will be gating and enforcing.
As I said, I'm there at least once a week, live 10 minutes away, what are you wanting checked out?

That first set of coords. That sucks! I’ve been through there twice in last six months and never noticed any barriers or no-trepassing signage, nor any evidence that barriers existed at all.

There's no way in hell I would be cruising around in that area. Too many creepers and bad guys that close to the border.
