San Diego BS Thread.

Time to install a new upgraded turbo on the Ram. Figured I might as well upgrade the exhaust manifold as well since they are known to crack, new one is a 2 piece slip fit so it can move during heat cycles without killing itself.
Turbo was only making 21psi max and my exhaust brake would barely function. So either the vane controller is dying, the turbo is full of carbon and the turbo has 225k on it so she’s tired!!

So might as well get a bigger turbo and a better flowing manifold.
And while I’m in there it’s a good time to install studs for more clamping pressure since this new turbo can make an easy 40psi of I have the tuner on the higher levels.

Still waiting on the new turbo drain tube setup but that will be here Monday, I’ve got plenty to do until then.
