BS happened to me today,

While parked on a quiet residential street at a job in Carlsbad (I was working in the back yard), I hear a "smash-bang"... trash trucks working the street so I thought...

I ran out to the street and see my wheel well flair on the ground, and a piece sticking out by my bumper... and a motorhome driving away!

I run towards it yelling, "hey you hit my truck!!!" ... he turned around as I am getting his plate #... and he came back. My almost new truck gets hit by a guy driving him mom's motorhome to get it smogged for her! Ruined his day (and didn't help mine).

The awning support on the moho gorged into my door a bit, across the tire and the entire plastic wheel flair was ripped off and the driver's side mirror was bashed forward, but works.

Insurance (his) should cover it all... but what a hassle! I go in tomorrow morning so they can estimate it.

Yes, I have lots of photos... and sadly, he hit the front wheel area and not the back where my bumper is messed up!!!

I will post photos mañana... I just had to let you (my amigos at TW) know that my baby got a boo boo.

Do this...

Go to a place like Ammato's.. get some crazy estimate.. Get the check, then go to a good place(but cheaper) and have the extra money to get whatever else you need fixed, fixed...

 

If I get a high-clearance bumper before I move, I'll give you my rear bumper.

Just got back for the shop for the estimate... any guesses?

How about I let some of you guess how much the estimate to fix my truck is before I tell?

They said they need up to 10 days to fix, and of course the motorhome's insurance covers the repair and a rental truck for me to use.

Sure it could have been worse! The guy driving said he was just doing his mom a favor by taking it to get smogged... He was in his late 40's I think, so not a kid driver. Maybe he was on his cell phone or texting?

 

Hey the other good thing is you can get that scratched wheel fixed along with the scratched portion of your bumper from Drug Airport.

 

What drug airport scratches? I don't know what you are talking about??
