Spare tire carrier worked great. No issues at all. Very pleased with it.

It was really big! The crazy thing is that it was about halfway up the cliff where the petroglyphs were and you couldn't see the entrance until you were up there. Totally hidden from the canyon floor. I thought of you when I was up there since you will be in Moab a few days earlier than most of us in May. Would be a cool little side trip for you on one of those extra days.

I don't know what brand it is but it is definitely sweet. Has a wood floor and wood burning stove. Pretty pimp camping setup.

You could easily get to Black Dragon Canyon and see the Petroglyphs and the cave on a day trip. It's about 10 min West of Green River on I-70 so maybe 45 min from Moab.

White Rim is great. It's awesome. Can't go wrong with that. Black Dragon will be shorter overall. I think the entire trail took us just a few hours including the time to stop and check out petroglyphs and caves. So just add drive time to and from Moab to that. White Rim is probably more scenic overall, but Black Dragon is really cool too.

Do you need a permit from the blm to camp there? Id like to explore there and the Maze District as well.

No permit needed for where we camped, but you do need one for the Maze.
