went to the beautiful Oregon coast today. 72 and sunny there. My Nitto Ridge grapplers had 37 lbs of air in them and we went everywhere with no trouble.D32DE696-D332-4DF9-8CB6-5579234FC42F.jpg340254A0-6C25-46A0-91B3-0BD07E589935.jpg 08E1BA0A-9031-4163-AC7E-CCEB459127EC.jpgCA764617-4CCA-41AB-9001-C3169D838B52.jpg

Lol. Did you engage crawl on some of the dunes? I was on the Washington coast a few weeks back and tried out crawl in the sand climbing. It was pretty amazing, friends in the truck were sure we would get stuck. Suckers

Don’t have it. I have been going to the Oregon dunes for over 50 years. If you want to climb hills let the air down to 15 lbs and you can then climb hills like the ones in the background.

Nope up near Long Beach. Wasn’t meaning dunes like at sand lake or Winchester bay just smaller ones. Didn’t air down four lowed up to them then crawled up and over.

You'll be tarred, feathered, analyzed and scrutinized by all the TW youngsters for not airing down. It's a sin ya know.....by their standards. Lols!

Nice rig btw! Love those ACLBs!

The crawl mode is assume. I never have seen anything like it. When my FJ40 got stuck it was stuck and had to be winched out. 350 HP did nothing but dig it deeper. It did idle up rock hills in the coast range. Our Tacoma impressed us today with the locked deff’s and that much air in the tires should have just shuddered and dug in. But nooooo it just drove through it. Went up a steep loose gravel hill in two WD and it never slipped once. Now that impressed us. Loving our Taco.

The sand looked kinda packed. I drive on the beaches in NC. and would be stuck in a flat second if I tried that shit here. Air down to 20 psi and go anywhere I wanna go. Never needed a locker or Crawl Control. I just limit my off roading to a minimum these days. Some sand, dirt roads, no mud or rock crawling. Happy you enjoyed your truck, air down some and save that transmission.

It's a Sport. No crawl mode, no lock.

They aren't needed for sand anyway. Stock tires at recommended inflation work fine as well.

Dunes are difficult in Crocs. Not in Tacoma 4x4s.

MDS08. Sand can be soft and dry and it can be hard and wet. Wet sand takes more power to drive on in Oregon anyway. The beach we were on looked packed but was soft and many got stuck that day.
We have been playing in the sand dunes for 50 years now. Oregon has 41 miles of dunes from Florence to North bend. We also have Sand lake and most of our beaches you can drive on. I sound like a travel agent. Lol
