    Yea that's what I mean, that's a GMLAN module to retain the chimes and onstar if applicable. Believe it or not I've seen 10x worse

    I've never had any of my shit look like that. I also never cut into the factory wiring. There are plenty of adapters out for that.

    I could remove my backup camera wiring (for HU) from the truck and no one would know it was ever there.

    There is power up to the headlight relays directly from the battery. Headlight control (low beam and high beam) comes directly off the ECU.

    I don't know where your aftermarket setup connects. Do you have a wiring diagram or a link?

    So thinking about this for a second. I forgot you said it was a relay powered kit from the battery. So the relay is isolating the ballasts from the Headlight wires. So short or some type of backfeed should feed to the relay and to the battery. Knowing aftermarket accessories and having installed plenty of HiD kits the only possible thing I can think of IF the HID's are the actual culprit would be the relay is shorting out some how. Perhaps corrosion is building up on the coil and sending a backfeed to pin 86 which should be connected to the 12v headlight wire. Only reason I'd say this is plausible is because the relays are usually never sealed. I would check the pins/connector or the relay and then open the casing just to be sure. Since you have had some salt water exposure it easily could corrode and oxidize the copper components (coil and contacts) inside the relay. If they use a universal SPDT relay you can easily swap it. Check that and let me know how it looks. If it's fine, I'm almost gonna bet it's not the HID's at all

    It plugs directly into factory bulb plugs, from there it goes to the relays (one for each side) which draw power directly from the battery. And my groind is run to the ground post that is connected to the neg terminal on battery. From the relay, it goes to the ballasts, which take power from everything described above, and shooot it to the bulb. Everything this factory plug style with rubber seals, even the relay. The plug/terminal side of relay is clean as a whistle, not sure about the insides, but they appear to be tight.

    I can after my run, not sure what more to see, it's the driver for the LED. Just on the inside of the housing it looks melted.
