Sand in the tank, headlights, or electrical issues, the saga continues for the 4th time? (10/9/18)

^ Exactly. The majority of detail shops, off road guys, etc all spray engines down... Hell half you guys submerge your trucks in rivers.

Expedition Overland took a 2016 Tacoma across a silt filled raging Alaskan River in the Yukon. Having lived in Alaska for 14 years, That silt wreaks havoc on everything and is SUPER fine, way finer than any sand.... And their Tacoma is still running.

Why is mine having failures after being exposed to hose water?

Its like going to the doctor and saying, "it hurts when i do this 'poke yourself'". If you stop doing the thing that makes the problem appear, you'll be a lot happier and save a lot of headaches.

That's my take on it. My truck runs, so I really don't care.

While that saying is fun to through around, the analogy breaks down in this case, since the truck is built to survive such use....if your finger hurts everytime you poke something, that's not cool...since a finger should be able to poke. It's built to do that. Just like a truck shouldn't die from an aggressive underbody car wash. I'd be worried about this truck dying on the highway in a bad rainstorm if it were mine.

 

Well, as a Nurse. If a patient says "it hurts when" I am going to poke,prod, and manipulate to further investigate the problem. Perhaps I can sense an impingement of the joint, fluid build up or crepitus under skin... Perhaps an edematous organ or internal bleeding... A mass, perhaps a tumor?

Yes. It's called diagnostics. You can't diagnose if you can't replicate.

 

my truck has never been wet

 

because the engine bay fills full of 2000+psi water during the rain.

 

I use a low pressure 40 degree nozzle on a low pressure electric power washer.

I'm no where near 2000 psi. I can hold my hand out in front, right against the nozzle with no pain or problems....

 

So if your truck does this, why is mine breaking lol.

I hardly ran trs into the dirt, and we discussed things behind the scenes and everything is good.

I provide useful comments to things I know about, what I don't do is troll and instigate people who are obviously having issues with their vehicle. Having a neutral influence is better than a negative one... IIRC you've already been banned once or twice

 

If you have seen the other trs threads I have praised their products, and was even a tester for one of their new products and improvements.

I am really confused what your contribution to the discussion has been besides, "don't get the truck wet". Not sure what bothers you with OP's problem or what your axe to grind is.
