Sand Lake OR - April 17/18 Camp & Ride

<-- does HAPPY DANCE!! Hey man, since your in Corvallis i had a great idea. My buddy is coming with me and is driving down from Salem. Thought maybe he could park near your place and we can caravan over to 101 and up to sand lake if you want to. That way he doesnt have to drive down to Junction City and you can just follow since you havent been their before.

 

wait im confused. is where we are going north or south from corvallis? he could leave his car here but i live in like town houses near campus. so its not like he could leave it in my driveway. but he could park it right outside on the street in front of my house.

 

It's north by Beaver. I just dont want to take 22 by dallas and cut across. I rather just hit 20 outside Corvallis and go up 101, nicer drive, more fun for the trucks and the driver lol. But since you live in townhouses that kinda is lame, haha i might as well make him drive down to JC in his ricer lol.

 

alright. i am so confused to all these places you are referencing lol. all the highways. i think the easiest would be if i met up with you guys and could follow.

 

HAHA do you know where HWY 20/34 is? If so were going to take that to HWY 101 which runs up the coast all the way to where we want to go.

 

yeah i know which on the 34 is. thats the one that you take off I-5 to get to corvallis right. so you just keep on the 34 towards like newport and stuff?

 

yup pretty much, 20/34 are the same HWY out of Corvallis heading west, and once you hit Philomath they split, 34 goes a little south to waldport on 101 and 20 goes a bit north to newport. So i say, we should me in Corvallis and you just follow lol. That makes things super easy.

HAHA yea i am to a good chunk of the time. You get all your required items? i might be able to snag a fire extinguisher from work if you dont have one/want to buy one lol.

 

no, i havent picked anything up yet. i'll take the fire extinguisher if you can get it haha.

there's a honda motorcycle and ATV shop near the campus that will have them. I cant remember the name of the place but a google search should be all you need to find them.

 

anyone happen to have on board air? or a compressor? I havent got mine yet so i dont want to put down the road and pay to air up when were ready to split.

There's a place out there that you can air up for cheap. Like maybe a buck. It would be totally worth it, air down while wheelin and camping, then air up as you're heading back home. Compared to the cost of gas for the drive and wheelin, a dollar basically nothing at all!

 

yea, i know theirs a place near by their to air up. But its kinda nice to just have something on hand.

 

Hey Snowgod06 - I have an air compressor I'll bring. It's slow but gets the job done. I've aired all my tires down to 10lbs and then used it to put em back up to 35lbs. Takes maybe an hour to do all4 of then and the compressor gets hot enough to fry eggs..

Anyway, you can do it while killing a few beers or something?
