I plan to throw the 4 all season tires/wheels in the bed while I have my snow tires/wheel on the truck in the winter. Kill two birds with one stone; weight and TPMS light.

Sand in back, 4x60 last winter. I had the stock dunlops on last winter, no problems. Wanted a more aggressive tire; but kept standard width so as to not diminish snow traction.

Weight does help, particularly on corners on snow packed roads. Keeps the back end from swinging out.

The 4x4 is all you need. the studed tires is what we used back in oregon they work good.

if you wanna drive like an a$$ in the snow= no weight, so when you take it to far the lack weight helps you stop, or recover control

if you going to drive sensibly while keeping your speed down and paying attention a little weight will help you get going. as long as you have the understanding you've added weight to the rear end, as well as added stopping distance, no surprises.

i think it boils down to how you drive. if going out to have fun, or trying to make home in the snowstorm and crazy traffic.

My job requires that I carry ~180# of sand in my truck at all times. No worries from me.

I have about 280 lbs of sand tubes by my tailgate, yes it does help. Why would anybody not want to increase traction in adverse conditions?

to many to list, check the build thread
Any pictures of how people are securing the sand bags? preferably over the wheels. Im thinking of building some sort of frame to hold the sandbags secure just over the rear wheels. Couple of 2x4's and screws and i should be alright. Id like to see what other people are doing though
