Do you think that the lift is the reason why the bearing keeps going? I was searching around for lift options and figure that the RCD lift would be a better option over the 3" lifts since it changes the CV angles. Awesome truck btw!!

I don't think so. I think the size and weight of the tire combined with Toyota's crappy original parts here is the problem. Now that both are replaced, I don't forsee this giving me any further problems in the future. Thanks.

Tacoma still looks good 9 years and 106k miles later. Son came home from college over the weekend and we washed, decontaminated, polished, and sealed the Tacoma. We'll probably sell the Tacoma this time next year then we'll buy him a new car as a graduation gift and kick him off the payroll.

Well, son graduated from college and I bought him an A5 sportback as a graduation gift. It will serve him better in LA when he starts working for Deloitte in the Fall.

And I got the Tacoma back. So Sandjunkie build 2.0 for the second decade is on tap. 111k miles on the clock. She’s in good shape but needs some attention and updating.

    Here is what is planned:
Foldacover Elite G4 needs new hinges and a few other parts when the dumbass Michigan Governor lets them get back to work
New headlights are needed. I went with the Tacomabeast tube led lights
I also ordered the matching taillights
New grill is needed as the paint is fading on the old plastic.
    New foglights will be coming
    New headunit
New Method Racing wheels - probably bronze 312’s
Sock monkey bedside decals need to be removed.
full detail/paint correction with ceramic coating Gtechniq CSL and ExoV4
    Prinsu roof rack
    New clock spring
Probably a few other things along the way

    Stay tuned...

Cleaned up the engine bay, fixed the clock spring and got the horn working again, got the dent removed from the tailgate, add performed a decontamination wash, iron removal, and autoscrubbed to get ready for polish and coating tomorrow. Put an extra bead of silicon around the Tacomabeast Spyder headlights before I install them this weekend. Also ordered some Rotifform Six OR’s in bronze but not sure if I’ll actually receive them. They are showing in stock but we’ll see. More to come.

From this weekend. Polished the paint with Sonax Perfect Finish. Applied CSL followed by 2 coats of ExoV4. New headlights installed, new grill installed. Steamed off the Lamin-X yellow foglight covers. 4x4 badge removed from tailgate. Started to remove Yeti Rescue stickers. New wheels are on their way. 2nd life of this 10 year old Tacoma has begun.

Just about done revitalizing the 10 year old truck. Washed, Decontaminated, Polished, and Coated. New grill, Headllights, taillights, Lamin-x removed from fogs, bedside decals removed, and new wheels. Ready for another decade.
