Nice! I've been contemplating either going with these or the Morimoto's ... still unsure but they look sick!

are you sure about that? I ordered a set of G4 from Headlight Revolution (their website indicated they would fit 3rd gen) and the lites wouldnt fit. the two long tabs were spaced just a couple mm's farther apart than my OEM. just couldnt get them to fit ,had to send them back.

You were installing them upside down. I had the same issue...rotated 180 degrees and the fit perfectly.

Just put a set of these in myself in non Amber with Hella Color Shieldz film on them. Went with non Amber because in the fog light test that @crashnburn80 did the Amber from the factory didn't do as well in his tests. So I got the brighter version but put film on them.

What REALLY matters is that YOU are happy with them. Everything else is just background noise. But they DO look sweet.

Mine were exact fit, no issues. They probably shipped you the wrong housings as there are many similar ones.

@Stocklocker How are you liking them so far? I cant decide between these KC Gravity amber fog lights (true amber) or the Baja Designs Pro amber fog lights (rally yellowish color).

    Hey,

I like them a lot. I’ve been super busy the last week, so haven’t had time for a proper post on these. Hope this post helps you decide.

    Here’s some info:

-They have far more side-wash than the stock lights, lighting up the road margins much better than stock. The optics are very closely considered and optimized from what I can tell. I think KC put a lot of effort into the design and engineering of these things. The overall brightness is about equal, but with more light to the side from the KCs.

-The housings seem heavier duty than stock (likely due to the metal heat sink for the LEDs)

-They are true “plug and play”. You just need to bundle the excess wire you end up with. The KC lights have a short cord and an adapter plug to match the Toyota connector. The mount is identical.

-They can be aimed in the vertical plane (up and down) but not horizontal (left to right), which is identical to OEM.

-They do not shake, flicker, flutter, or otherwise cause annoyance.

-They are a true amber, not yellow in the slightest. If you don’t like amber, these are not for you. If you want a dark amber light, these are for you.

-They are very good looking when off due to them not being amber until they are on.

-They have an extremely defined cut-off. They shine brightly in the direction they point, but almost look from outside the truck as if they are a parking lights from all other aspects.

-You will never piss off another driver with these. They have a tighter, more useful pattern than the OEM with almost no upward glare.

-I like the amber. It’s easy on the eyes, and heck....looks cool as hell.

-If you want more forward or upward light than stock, these are not for you. They are a true fog lamp in its very definition, they are not an “off-road light”.

-If I did not want an amber light, I would buy the white light version of these same lamps. I like them that much

-Here is a photo with the passenger side KC and the Driver side OEM halogen. No headlights on. The truck is center in the road. A fence is on both side of the road. You can see the fence in the KC amber light but not in the OEM.

Stock Halogen vvvv. Note the upward wash from the lamp (causing unnecessary glare for both oncoming drivers and reflecting light back into your eyes from water droplets)

They have a projector-like beam pattern:

They would go well with a “black headlight mod”

The advantage is not really looks with the G4s, only function. They are not amber when off, and even when on, their cut-off and projection is so defined and crisp, that they don’t do much to “decorate” your truck, other than at certain angles. Myself, I like the “mellow” amber light spectrum. I find it illuminates the roadside extremely well, but you can drive around with them on all the time and not tire out your eyes. I find a lot of very “white” LED lighting strains your eyes after hours on the road. Not these G4’s. They work extremely well at illuminating the road, and you save your vision as well on long drives.
