This is bullshit!!! I know some of these kids and that sucks that they were forced to play this way. There was one kid who tried to play and he got benched by the coaches.

    From the first link\/\/\/\/\/
three reasons why they did it:

    1. Give them an easier opponent in the crossover game

    2. Force top seeded LA Hockey Club to play in a crossover game instead of getting a bye to the semi-finals.

    3. Eliminate Beach City Lightning, who though struggling, were potentially a stronger team.

If Santa Clara had won the game by 4 or more, The gulls would have been out and Beach City would have been in. If they lost by 4 or fewer goals, LAHC had a bye to the State Championship round and they would have had to play a stronger team in the crossover game.

Their actions directly affected every other team that made it either to States or the crossover games
    (btw what's a crossover game? I'm not 100% sure)
