Buzzard Lagoon isn't near the fire location, so I think we'll be fine.

Summit Rd. and Highland Rd. appear to be closed currently so best to monitor as those are your direct route to Buzzard Lagoon Rd.

Edit - those are not closed, but roads connecting from Summit/Highland to the north are. Summit/Highland are part of the evacuation area however.

2nd edit - Summit Rd. is closed so no way to get to Highland really. Hope situation improves; weather is supposed to cool off a bit starting tomorrow so that may help.

    A few things
One thing to keep in mind is there are emergency vehicles traveling all over that area. If you don't NEED to be in the area you shouldn't. The last thing they need is to have to navigate around a lager group to get the where they are going on a one lane dirt road. Also the local residents are going rough some serious shit at the moment and probably really won't be happy to have people joy riding through their neighborhood. You guys do what you want, but I highly recommend staying away from the area.

Very valid points. Might give it a pass and be in for another weekend. Would hate to be "that guy" and impede on them putting out the fire

Alright. Looks like the popular vote is to postpone the Buzzard Lagoon visit.

I was really looking forward to a drive this weekend. So for those feeling the same way I do, how about we drive down HWY 1 and onto Whitehouse Canyon Road? I've only explored about two miles of it from 1, but it looks like it spits us out into an area called The Chalks on the map.

The other option is, we take a drive to Carnegie SRVA in Livermore/Tracy.

Carnegie isn't that big. Would rather go to holister than over there. Never been to the White House place.

Looks like the fire is now only 10% contained.

@ninja89 and I are literally up for a drive anywhere. So what if we meet at the REI in San Mateo, then take 84, to HWY 1 to White House Canyon road? Any objections? There's great photo ops on the HWY 1 coast cliffs.
