Just so you know, the traffic heading over 17 to the beach can be a nightmare between 11-2pm on weekends so the earlier we roll out the better. It's a crap shoot this time of year so just a heads up as we may get caught up in it leaving at 11:30am, who knows? If the decision is to meet in Los Gatos, there is a park-n-ride just off the freeway with a Safeway (Pete's Coffee) just down the road. I'll share the directions once the headcount details are all finalized. Gonna be a good day...........

I think we should plan it for alittle earlier. For the laggers(like me) and so we have more time to play and do other stuff in Santa Cruz.(picking up rear bumper) lol

Good point, maybe we'll aim for 10:30AM.

Great to have you on board. Just added you to the list. Do you have a CB?

You can. You'll only be able to talk to whomever has a two-way (I think @Quakes15 said he does). There's currently 3 CB guys (myself included) so I figure we'll place ourselves in the front, middle, and end of the convoy.

Since school has started up again it shouldn't be as bad as it is in July/August, but 10:30 shouldn't be too bad (also depends on weather).

Also, if I think you are going on Buzzard Lagoon Rd off Highland Way then be aware of mountain bikers on the first dirt section - a lot of people ride up that way to get to Soquel Demonstration State Forest (Demo) so you may encounter some riders. The intersection I am referring to is here: https://goo.gl/maps/9paiZSWKq542 riders will take that up to Aptos Creek Rd just a short ways up then cut off of Buzzard Lagoon.

Thanks for the tip. The mountain bikers aren't too bad. Most of them are polite and move to side as they hear you driving up. Are you joining us, @northstream ?

I don't own a Taco (yet) nor a real off-road worthy vehicle so I will not be joining but I am one of those mountain bikers sometimes. 98% are chill and will move out of the way for you. I joined recently to look at prices/info on the Gen3s and saw this thread and was interested since I'm in that area as well (Sunnyvale). Enjoy!! Great trails up that way though I haven't done the roads past Aptos Creek.

I do not have a CB radio. Planning to get one soon. Probably won't be in time for the meet up.

Old Santa Cruz is probably the better option but you still have to get on 17 for a bit. I am OK with any route and who knows, 17 may not be an issue if we target 10:30am

Yep, 17 should be fine that earlier. We'll even check traffic that morning if we need to.
