Hey guys and gals, i want to sas my 97 tacoma but im having a hard time finding a driver drop axle. So im looking for alternatives. Can i swap a pickup transmission from a v6 to the taco and make it passenger side drop and use a mini truck axle? What mods would i have to make? Thanks!

I mean, solid axle swap is a full-fab job.

Are you doing this yourself? Even with just parts, it's going to be costly.

You can go this route - Tacoma 1995.5-2004 Solid Axle Swap (SAS) Kit - Yotamasters

They offer their kit with a Rock Assault axle housing.

You try living in constant 50-60 degree weather right next to the ocean for 11 years then suddenly move to this heat :luvya:

Performance: 6" deckplate mod, URD Crank Pulley, K&N air filter, ISR mod, and a AirRaid throttle body spacer, magnaflow muffler. Audio: Alpine speakers and sub running on a Alpine 5ch amp. All ran with Stinger wire kit, and a Alpine touch screen reciever. Extras: 15% Window Tint, Spray in bed liner, LineX coated factoey fender flares, Custom Roof rack/Track system, SoftTopper Canopy, Viair Dual 444c Onboard air with dual 2.5Gal tanks.
Sas is very pricey! And takes a long time to fine tune everything. Trail gear makes a decent kit that's driver drop Maybe not as good as running built dana44s but for more "entry level sas"(don't if entry level even works due to the work and price, sas conversion is still sas conversion) it is a good option. I'm running their 3link kit with 4.8i gears. You can definitely find better sas pages on here though to ask more questions.
