Yes it does change. Wyatts truck is about as low as you can go. On 40's he has 24in frame to ground (or close at least) thats with 5 inches uptravel still 4 probably being minimum, now add the extra height the portal boxes give you. Going to send you sky high.

Portal axles work well on a truck that was designed for solid axles in the first place. Stock suspension with all the lift gained from the portal boxes.

 

I have a Pinzgauer with portal axles. Our club in AZ runs them on highways all over the state. As long as you keep them lubed with fresh gear oil, they are trouble free. I've got 265/75/16 tires on mine and I can clear a 5 gallon bucket.

Those aftermarket portals are pretty spendy though - I could buy a 712 (6-wheeler) Pinz for that much and have money left over.

 

Theyre even more if you buy the genuine mercedes ones, once you figure in trying to get parts for them.

Well when you get no updates for over a month from the OP yeah its gunna slow down. I never got a response from him through pm either when I was asking questions about the kit.

 

People good things come with time. Give the guy a break. He's made the most badass tacoma known to man. Far meaner than anyone's tacoma on here. Years in advance.

I'm not dogging Wyatt's work by any means but this thought popped into my head too. All three are really fantastic
