ok taco4x4... just to set things straight.. dont worry about the diff being on the wrong side..dont waste $ on a re-tube. buy the gear driven case from a toyota P/U and throw the tacome POS in the trash. get marlin crawler adapter. the rest of your post seems accurate. i was on my phone so it was kinda hard to read.

    A few bolts are different.
    mmm longfield's

    Bingo! high pinion as well.

yup and 84-85 are more desired because they have the larger truss on the bottom of the housing.

1997 is the last year for LC SA. I think 94-97 are the years that they were available with the front e-locker and would be a great option if you wanted to stay with all toy parts. I Really like the Diamond axle's though....

i didnt know the wms on the toy axle. but i would haved to disagree on the chain vs gear driven case. and if you ever break the chain case its hard to find parts. you can buy a gear case, rebuild kit, and adapter for less.... i broke mine and have been doing research on such.

i agree with taco4x4 the toyota axles would be a pain, and how hard are you really wheeling? yea the SUPER hard core dudes would probaly break the chain cases but i dont see the average person having any trouble with the chain cases. and if you do get the gear drive case you have to worry with you exhaust now too.
