I am putting a small camper on my 2016 Tacoma which has the Sat radio antenna on the roof. I think my camper will clear the antenna but doubt if I will have radio reception with the fiberglass camper on over the cab. Any suggestions as to alternative hookups for the antenna? Are there auxiliary antennas available that can be wired to the radio to maintain reception when the roof antenna is blocked by a camper or other on-roof attachment?

I have a Four Wheel Camper on my DCLBOR-- you will still get sat reception in the cities because of the "repeaters" used by Sirius XM. Outside of the city, reception is poor. I found no problem with FM reception or GPS.

There's a thread over on the "Wander the West" forum under "Four Wheel Campers" on this topic. Getting an additional magnetic antenna is easy; the problem is the adapter to connect to the radio from the new antenna. TSS sells one for Toyota radios through the 2015s, but I could not get it to fit into the back of the 2016 head unit.

No one I have talked to seems to have the adapter yet. So, I have given up on Sirius XM for now when on the road. Let me know if you come up with a solution.

I will PM you with the links.

Thanks! Much appreciated. I will follow up with the links and let you know if I find a 2016 adapter. Nice to know there is a potential solution.
The Torque Lift Camper tie downs were only just released for the 2016 Tacoma so I imagine other accessories will become available soon by various companies.
