    Hi all,
So I've had my sirius installed in my 2009 DC for well over a year now using the factory stereo with the SCC1 and TOY-SC1 adapter using the shark fin adapter to the stock antenna.
It's worked flawlessly for over a year now until yesterday morning on my way to work my radio started cutting out and i'm getting the "Acquiring Signal" message. This is happening consistently now every 3-10 seconds or so now. Music then cuts out, etc... Not sure what would cause this. I'm assuming it has something to do with the antenna? Has anyone heard of the factory antenna's going bad? I can't see that it would be my sharkfin adapter as it's all tied up neatly under the dash and routed to the plugin behind the kick panel with the other end securely plugged into the SCC1 unit.

Any thoughts on where to start trouble shooting this?

nothing? C'mon experts where are you? :)

I just picked up a sirius satellite antenna at lunch today that i'm going to plug into the SCC1 to see if that fixes the problem. If it does then at least I've narrowed it down to the antenna that's the issue.
No one has had a bad shark fin adapter have they? Has anyone ever heard of the antenna/module receiver going bad?

My XM factory installed in my 2010 hasn't failed yet... My Tom Tom GPS is another issue, however... It stopped locking onto satellites nicely as it had the first few months, and now takes hours before locking on, then loses it constantly. Nothing was changed on my end.

I tried the Sirius antenna tonight and it worked with no problems. So I guess now I have to determine whether it's the shark fin adapter cable or the actual antenna on the roof. guess it will be process of elimination. I'll flip a coin for which one I buy and try first. Not too happy....

Further testing seems to indicate a loose connection wher the antenna plugs into the SCC1 receiver. The radio was better with the new antenna, but if it gets wiggled at the connection point I get a "acquiring satellite" message or "antenna error" msg. Going to try a new SCC1. Keeping my fingers crossed that's the issue. Otherwise I am going to end up replacing every component likely. What a pain....

Any resolution? I'm having the exact same problem. Probably going to buy a replacement fin. already got a new SCC1 and cable.

    Nope
I started at the opposite end that you did. I tried a new antenna and no change. My next step was going to be a new SCC1. I just haven't decided if I want to bother anymore with it. $150 for a new module and cable seems a lot to troubleshoot this issue. I wish there was a way to test the module without having to buy a new one.
