    #1) Not arguing, stating fact
#2) Got your quote from your 1st post, on 1st page where you offerthe service.
#3) Chrome on plastic, is still chrome, (but plated to plastic) You can sand the shit out of it etc., but paint doesnt stick to chrome, and will peel.
#4) What paint system are you using? I manage a body shop in So Cal, and we cant use, nor buy solvent based (basecoat/color) paint. We must use a water based system (we use PPG). So tell us your paint process, what system ?
    Again, not arguing, just curious.

My 2 cents: If your going to paint grills at least start off with a plain (not chrome grill)? I'll stay out of this now, but will continue to read as I think you are way over your head here. Good luck with all THAT

well, taken from a professional, it's good to know that our chrome grilles are hard to paint over. I'll most likely throw that up on the first page to tell people. As to the rattle can post, that was the fourth post of this thread. When I posted that, it was when I was planning on offering my service only for doing satoshis, no painting. I wouldnt really use the first few posts of a 19 page thread to gauge my service.

My paint process? It's rudimentary, at best. I use my grandfather's air compressor from the 1960's, coupled with a DeVilbiss finishline 3, and urethane base coat. I didnt know urethane base coat was illegal in Cali until my neighbors complained and called the fire marshal on me. Fire Marshal warned me, and told me if I had another complaint, it would be a fine.

Dude, stop shitting on his thread. Aaron isn't "way over his head", he has done this for a lot of members on this forum and they are all very pleased. He knows what he's doing.

Dude, Not shitting on his thread. I dont give a shit if you like what I have to say or not. Im a professional that does this (paint/body) for a living....over 30years now, Im not a 18 yo squid you thinks he know it all. Although I probably was when I was 18. But I digress....
I must have missed all these pleased customers? He/you really doesnt have a clue as to what he's doing.

Your neutral rep REALLY hurts. If you don't like what Aaron has to offer then don't look at his thread.

I agree that chrome is hard to adhere to. I had a durango with a HUGE chrome grille surround like on the taco but bigger..... i wanted to paint it so i borrowed my friends pressure washer and literally stripped the chrome plating off the surround. It left the surround looking like grey marble (bare plastic). It was rather cool though. the chrome is not just a paint on the grille.... it almost looked dipped..... and it was WAY thick.

That being said, i believe that this service is reasonably priced for not having it professionally painted. there are numerous customers that are satisfied with the product, and some who arent, but in reality, professional or not, someone always has a bad experience.

    Keep it up blackhawke

He did any update on the 1st post saying that it was back up and good to go. But that he would not be doing the color matched surround any longer.

I assume so. I've heard of alot of guys getting paint mixed to color match in rattle cans. Should'nt be too hard to do.

I would'nt paint the grill till the service is done first. Just in case it gets scratched during shipping or something.
