^ thanks! 60guy wasn't too pleased with how his colormatched grille surround came out so I refunded him and now I will either part it out and use it for future projects or Im going to put it on my truck for the time being and see if there are any local interests.

I am going to put the colormatching on hold for a while as I figure out how to do a better job. I've painted many things using Toyota factory paint and they come on pretty well until you step up close and see the uneven distribution of the pearl finish. Toyota uses a pearl finish for their paint and it is hard to apply the pearl paint evenly using a rattle can. Its easier with a paint gun because it shoots with a constant pressure and is a higher quality spray in general, however, I dont have the capital for that investment.

^ thanks :) sad to say, my customer was not satisfied and I feel that it is my responsibility to do what I can do make him/her satisfied. Im gonna throw it on the for sale thread for like a week and offer it at cost which is $217 (Grille, grille mesh and emblem). If there are no takers, I will use the grille mesh and emblems for future grilles and sand down and primer the grille for a future project.

^ I am in Arizona for Thanksgiving, but expect your grille to be finished by Wednesday morning next week at the latest

EDIT: I picked up one of these bad boys so sanding should take no time now :D

Oh man what a world of difference it makes with the sander, I can't believe you have been doing it without it. It makes it so much easier and way faster.

Have fun with the triangles, it took me the same amount of time to do those as it did the rest of the grille. It took me forever to get the little corners sanded.

^ yea i've been using a rubber sanding block the whole time, but i've finally saved up enough from doing these grilles to invest in a reciprocating saw (to cut out the grille center) and an orbital sander. My arms shouldnt be nearly as sore now!

I've heard those centers are a bitch to do, but I'll just have to see for myself :D

    BUMP

Im getting a batch of 10 pre-cut grille mesh from customcargrilles shipped to me latest Dec. 15, so I can take some more grilles to work on til then. If i get a batch of grilles by Dec. 8, I can have them ready for the mesh by the time the grille mesh arrive.

So how would a red grille look in an all black truck?

Idk, it would definitely stand out. Any reason why you would be going red versus black?

Looks good! Did you just take the Dremel cutting wheel to it from the back side along the edge?

Let me know how you attach your side vents. I have little pieces of all thread on mine that have been JB Welded on so I can screw them down. However, occasionally they want to pop off, I've redone 3 now so far.
