Looks really good. From the first picture it looks like you did a really good job getting it symmetrical and payed attention to where the lines for the angle changes should be. Great Work! Here's hoping the fit goes flawlessly once you get around to testing it out.
Where did you get the mesh up here in the great white north?

Thanks for the compliments, much appreciated..!

Got the metal from "The Metal Superstore".

Trick is, knowing what term to use when asking for it... And it's not "mesh".

Sure... But you can get it in different alloys of "metal".

    Aluminum, stainless, galvanized, plain "steel"...

Once I have my "mock-up" grill ready (the $13 piece of perforated "steel" I have now), I'm gonna get some in aluminum & cut the final grill.

    * PS - they have a location in Toronto...

Checked out the link. Looks like they have a ton of options.

    Thanks for the knowledge.

    No problem, mate...

Just did a coat of body-filler to fill holes/smooth everything out. Should be ready for paint in a day or two.

BTW - this 2012-2014 Satoshi Grill will probably be for sale in the next week or so... Just in time for Xmas !

    ;)

Aaannnddd another 3-4hrs sanding/fitting. And yes, it fits !!!

Just need to put a final coat of filler onto it, some more sanding, & prep it for primer/paint...

I'm guessing I'll have approx. 14-16hrs into it when its finally done. At about 10hrs now.

Is the extra pain on the new grills vs. older models basically that if you do a thin lip version you have to bend the mesh to conform to the shape of the front of the grill and if you do the deeper lip like John R1 here to keep the mesh flat you can't go too deep w/o hitting the headlight? Or is there more to it?

you can go as deep as you want as long as your sides are at an angle to where it clears your head lights

I guess I was wondering if there were more factors to it beyond those 2 that complicate the newer grill style. If I changed my grill I think I would be shooting for the thin lip version anyway so shaping the mesh would be a bigger issue than building up a lip.

that lip is hell. since your rebuilding 1/3 of the entire lip. shaping mesh is cake. but I like the look of the deep

Selling to fund Xmas presents. I want to keep it, but am going to build another one anyways with the grill currently on my truck.

This was kind of a practice-run, but I think it's shaping up pretty nice so I won't feel guilty/ashamed selling it & "putting my name on it".
