I did my satoshi half way this weekend.. and damn I would've paid to get it done. What a frikken pain in the butt! I still probably have one nigth sanding, one night painting before being done.. and then I'm not even sure it will look good!

Knowing it was that painful to do I would've bought one from you hehe. Just a heads up for other people.

Yeah the first one for me was a killer. Helpful tip, once you think you're done sanding...you're not done, go back and wet sand it. Make sure to use filler primer to help smooth out any imperfections that are left over. The primer will also highlight what ever isn't smooth enough and you can go back and do touch ups. Everything will look just fine once you black it out and get that mesh on there.

Now that sounds like some good advice.

Added my "deadline" to the first post.

I won't be doing any more after September 30th due to vacations, holidays, trips for work and other things taking up my free time.

I don't know if I'll try to get this going again or not next summer. I'll see how it goes this time around and also see what I'm up to next year.

I just got to that part tonight.. sanded, then primed and oh shit, everything is now showing...

so now back to sanding to remove all the scratches and small imperfections I could not see before priming.

man this is a long process.

I just got to thinking, how the hell do you get to your hood latch that lets you open the hood with the satoshi grille on?

I haven't had any issues with the hood after installing the grille. I saw one write up where he mention cutting something away so he can open the hood but when I put mine on and tried to see what he was talking about but didn't see any issues. No problems here.

Update to first post. I won't be offering to do the little triangle grilles anymore. Those damn things are not easy to get right and I can't justify charging out the ass to do them just to make it worth all the trouble.

ahh the thought of a satoshi grille for my 08 tacoma would be sweet. I'm up for it since I dont have time working on my car very much. How much would it cost then including shipping to do a radiant red one, MX series black upper grillcraft with a red painted toyota emblem????
