Rounded a corner this morning on a wet road and the back end broke loose and skid into a telephone pole. I dont think will be totalled out, still waiting on what the insurance company will say. No fluid was leaking that i could see. Truck still ran. But the radiator was pushed back into the block from what i could tell.

My question is when(if) they start the repair process, what all should I watch out for and make sure they dont try to pass over like steering or joints or suspension.

Also while they are in there fixing it all up is there any else I should look into getting upgraded? Any known issues that i should just go ahead and do preventative maintenance on. Suspension or performance upgrades?

Its got 127k miles on it, its mostly all stock besides k&n air filter and hid headlights, and new sparkplugs at 100k. I run lucas oil through the gas every fillup. This truck is my baby!

Glad to hear any tips or suggestions yall got20140622_103533.jpg

Road doesn't look all that wet. Something similar happened to me once. Going too fast and lifted on the corner. Throttle lift oversteer.

Doesn't look all that bad, but if the radiator made it all the way to the block that's pretty impressive. Especially if it's not leaking.

Sorry to hear about your truck, but you know what they say, "any accidentyou get to walk away from is a lucky one." Hope you dont get shafted by your insurance.

One would be to take the HIDs off if you don't have projector housings for them. They're not made for reflector type housings.

Roads are actually slicker after a light rain since all the grease and oils in the asphalt have been reconstituted so to speak, where as if its been raining a while or hard the oils have mostly washed away. Glad ur ok btw

+1 You're more than likely blinding the shit out of people and don't even know it. Besides, retrofits are fun to do, they just cost a little more.

    Glad you're not hurt though.

Since they are replacing the grille, see if you can get a painted "Sport" grill instead of the chrome. No offense to anyone that has the chrome grille, I just think chrome looks tacky on Tacoma's.

If hood is damaged to the point of replacement, perhaps you could pay the difference for a scooped hood (if that's your taste) I'm not really into scooped hoods, but if it's your thing, could be a cheap upgrade since they already have to paint.

Thats exactly what i was thinking matching grill and scooped hood. Maybe some kind of metal bumper perhaps. If the have to replace the suspension, go for the trd setup since mine is the standard setup. Any other ideas?
