I like the "auxilary lights" reference , because thats about what they are

they're not Hellas of course but they help considerably offroading, most my trail running isn't bombing down a sand wash at 70mph anyway (although thats fun) but they do throw a nice wide beam which I have aimed kinda low for trail illumination at night & they were cheap, $20 & change at Walmart....

I posted this last week in the Lighting forum on the new mods to my Tacoma off road lighting... The big difference is clear between stock high beams and the others...

Okay, back to my Tacoma and the modified light bar!

Easy to notice the difference in ligh color between the halogen (yellow-white ~3000ºK) and the HID (blue-white ~5,000ºK)

The blue switch is the HIDs and the red is the Halogens.

    Later tonight...

    STOCK TACOMA HIGH BEAMS:

I was to lazy to download the pictures this weekend but I finally did it. I also went up to Mt. High on saturday. It was my first time driving in snow with the taco and I got to say it handled it pretty well. Sorry the pictures are large, I couldn't figure out how to downsize them.

Here's two more just to show how much it snowed. I would say about 1' - 1-1/2' of snow. This was early morning too it snowed about 4-6 more inches by the time I left.

Who do you think said it Derek?... My girl Crissy Russo, she absolutely nailed it last year almost to the time of day it started, & that was after that tired old *** I can't stand , John Coleman on ch 51, there were a few others that scoffed at the idea that snow was on the way (ahem, Derek, you too said it wouldn't snow) & if you remember I met her at a taco shop at lunch time & told her about TW & our run on Sat. & when I asked her about snow she said "Oh, oh yeah , it is def. going to snow & snow it did I know you remember that buddy !!!;)
