Completely. And telling him to buy it is bad advice, but someone needs to play the devil's advocate.

Whoever owns this elevator ad, just call them. If they are clever enough for the marketing spot, they probably have decent attorneys too!

It looks like you are most of the way there. Are you having trouble that you'd need the locker?

The derp'ed cheese-graters look great, IMHO.

Also, if you want to keep the general stiffness but improve things on uneven roads and off road, try taking the swaybar off?

I think it was around $600? Idk, dealership did it for me. Was part of my purchasing agreement. It just went through a winter here in Maine with 0 issues, no leaking or anything. Super quiet opening and closing. Only issue I had was they're not allowed to touch any of the stock button spots, so the buttons for the sunroof sit dead center of my visor on the roof above my head. It's an extremely flush mount button setup, so don't even notice them there unless you're looking for them or know they're there. Doesn't look bad at all, but my pickyness kicks in, and wish they asked me where to place them or let me do the wiring for it, but, oh wells, I know for next time.

No troubles as of yet. Never had a vehicle with lockers and have gone mudding every year at the mudruns here in Maine without issues. It's one of those.... They're available, want them, never had, don't need, but still want moments.

I am having an issue with my lift though. At least that's what dealer is saying. Under 5mph at heavy acceleration, I get this faint vibration. Dealer said I should shim the rear end/Tranny to remove some of the axle angle as it's causing the shake. I've had lifts on all my Tacomas and never had this happen. It's only a few inches.

I was thinking the same and even looked at the ARB setup, but then I didn't have problems where I have been. The TRAC system seems really good, even with a wheel in the air.

It sounds like shims would be a good idea. It has worked for others.

I'll have to get them. Know of any suggestions on which to get? Making sure I do this correctly.

If you think a $10K difference in price, plus whatever you lose after the trade in(add another $5K), it's worth the few advantages you will gain over a TRD sport, then go for it.

But personally I think it would be foolish, unless you have the money to burn.

Nothing else is an actual PRO. You can make a better truck for less money but it will never actually be a PRO. If that's important to you then I say get the PRO. The other plus for the Pro is that they have good resale from what I've heard.

I've owned one unique, rare car in my life and it was an enjoyable experience. It was a 2000 Acura Integra Type R. Serial #0076 of about 1500 imported to the US that year. Owned that car for nine years and still sometimes regret selling it.

Once you mod/replace the little amount of functional equipment that makes it "a pro" you are left with just nice badges and logos.

I say keep what you have. Even though everyone says to just buy a locker, it’s pretty rare that anyone actually does this. If they do, I haven’t seen much info on it.

I will say this, I would NEVER buy a Pro only because there is no power advantage. When you buy a flagship vehicle there has to be some type of incentive as far as power or supercharger or turbo before I would ever do it. Not all manufacturers do this, but I don’t care because I have a Tacoma and I am very happy with my OR. I just think the Pro is a nice truck but not really much different than the OR and Sport trims. Not to constitute the price difference at least.

I wouldn't be trading my Sport. Be keeping it, along with the Pro. Just bought my wife a 2018 Pro 4Runner and she loves it. The seats in it are much more comfortable than the leather in the Tacoma Pro. Maybe I'll just stick with my Sport and continue dumping money into it to get as close to what the pro is that I can. Just love that black on white look of that pro. Love my blue sport though. Too many decisions........

    If it were me...
I'd wait for the me cycle refresh to see what happens. There isn't enough of a difference for me to eat 10-15k loss on a "want". Maybe at the refresh, something significant will be changed to make it worthwhile.
