I still say it’s not worth the extra dough. U can always buy a white OR and do the bhlm, crawl control and get it with leather seats and lift it.

:/ As much as it's going to sit on the back of my mind, I'm just going to stick w/the Sport, and continue Modding it. Gives me something to do w/my 6months off a year anyways, but man..... the thought of that Pro haunts me to go get it.

Have something and make it your own. Very good way to bring you and the truck closer. BTW, I have a silver OR but I would have bought blue in a heartbeat. White is awesome, but tough to keep clean for one. Also, the blue both looks mean and also looks very vibrant as well! Just think it through man. You seem like you are trying to really talk yourself through it which is a good idea.

    That's looking really good.

I was looking at this here https://www.carid.com/2017-toyota-t...t-bumper-with-pre-runner-guard-378092885.html But my only 2 issues are 1: I like the extremely clean look of the truck so far, and that bumper will throw it off a little. 2: The weight on the front end, I know that'll effect fuel mileage, and I drive a-lot, so can't be pushing those MPG's too low.

I've always fully modded out every truck I've owned. Not sure if it's just age getting to me now, that I'm losing my boost for working on my vehicles non stop, or laziness is taking over, and prefer to buy it fully done and call it good. But, we all know, I'll own the Pro for a few week and start adding to it.

A "Pro" is a foolish purchase and is not anything close to "Pro" except the stupid cost.
Customize your own truck and make it better than the pro for cheaper, like 1000's of other people have done.
I laugh every time I see a pro ... there's a sucker born every minute

People will never understand, if you’re going to upgrade a off-road it’s a way better deal to upgrade a pro instead. The fox suspension sells for as much as 2500$ alone. Then the wheels, skid plate, rigid fogs (if you plate bumper). Those items fetch top dollar. The kicker is the resale value will stay at pro price while the off-road value will stay at off road price. The items I listed for the off-road will barely sell for 1000$ open market whereas you could be at 5000$ for the pro take offs.

Dealer by me has had one for weeks...I think more people are realizing it's not worth the premium price, especially since they don't budge off MSRP and you can get a non pro TRD for near invoice.

Just plastidip it in whatever color you want to test with and run it for a while. Worst case (assuming you follow the instructions), you peel it off later to find the perfect paint you sealed under it before the change. Donezies! Side note... I was actually thinking of doing this JUST to protect my paint, haha.

If you want to make it look like a pro that’s easy. Check out the trd pro faux grill forum. I snagged a Chinese knock off for about 140 and it looks perfect. Also you can swap your fenders out with the matte black plastic ones pretty easily. I’d go with Clazzios personally for the money they feel great and made the seats a lot more comfortable. I went with the Pro stitching pattern so they look pretty similar. Once you get the pro grill and switch your fender covers it’ll look like a pro already. I’d message gunny and see how much he can get you the trd Pro wheels. He works for them so he cuts TW members good deals. Or check eBay you can buy from different Toyota dealers for around 800.

Or you can spend less than a pro and it can have a ton more goodies. Plus, build it using the parts you wanted. Just saying. Oh, and another thing, I wanted a sunroof with tech package on my truck so a pro wasn't an option for me.

    This is nuts.

I don't know what PRO's sell for but it seems like too much considering it's the same truck after you do mods.

    Build your own better.

Your truck already looks good. Go get a China pro grill and I think you will have turned the corner.

This one in photo is $46 I believe? Which is why I considered it.

Now that's not a bad price at all. I would probably consider it then if I was a first time buyer. I guess then it would be really up to what you could sell yours or trade it in for. But that's only if you didn't take a big hit. I did that once when I traded in a 6 month old car to buy another one. Never again. I do have a love for white PRO's though.

As you should! A 97 just sold a few weeks ago for $50k. I've had 3 ITR's over the span of my lifetime and regret selling each one of them. Decent clean title/stockish examples are now priced in a territory that is difficult for me to swallow unfortunately.

I think the limited production bug drew me to the Pro, just as it did with the Type R. Sure, you could save a few grand, get an Integra GSR and mod your way to success or have something that is closer to a complete package which will be a desired trim for years to come. To each their own, but spending an extra $6k and waiting a few months was a no brainer.

In your shoes, I'd just press the dealership and see what sort of numbers they can work out. It doesn't hurt to ask. Your gut will immediately tell you if it makes sense or not.

Yea, I'd be keeping my current one, and adding the Pro to my lineup. Currently have my 17 Sport, 18 4Runner Pro, and would like to add the 18 Tacoma Pro to the lineup. (Bought the 4Runner for my Fiance 3 weeks ago) At $46 though, it's why I questioned it really hard. It's about $6k cheaper than I've seen any other pro's, and I absolutely love the look of the Black on White of it.
