It's pretty easy, honestly. You just eat food and text in between gear shifts and turns. You're not shifting 100% of the time... haha

Rowing gears for the win, or whatever.

this was my first auto in over a decade. Mainly due to the wife not being able to drive a stick and after years of a manual I figured it was fine for AT. I had no intention of the truck ending up where it is today. I wish I had gotten the MT. I tested them but final hour swapped to the AT. Its hard to argue they work really well but I do miss the MT and would have liked some of the gearing especially now being boosted.

If my wife can learn in one day I think anyone else should be able to in a few. My kid's first cars will be manuals so they have the skillset. They can buy whatever they want after that.

Still a good idea, wife and I have talked about it a few times, we have a manual Outback that the son will drive.

I got good at using my legs for the wheel. Just need to switch legs after the shift. All while holding a burger. I’ve grow up from that, but that was a step in the right direction from high school, when I once drove down the road at 50ish, driving from the roof.

This was one of my main reasons also. If they made a new full size truck in manual I'd probably be driving that to be honest.

After owning the 3rd Gen auto, I developed a greater appreciation for MT and being able to shift when you want it to. That being said, I have my auto 14' Tacoma and love it. For me it's easier off-roading and commuting to and from work.

They’re hard to find and a little under powered for their weight but you can find first gen Tundras with the Taco 4.0 V6 and a manual transmission if you’re patient and want more space than a Taco with a manual.

I could find out for ya ha. I doubt the single cab 8 foot bed came with the V6 but it's very possible.

I've been looking for a clean 05-06 DC for a loooong time now. Someday, it will be mine :D

I know how an I have had several manuals and yea they were fun but they were pain in ass in traffic, I’m not trying pretend I’m an extra in fast in the furious I just need to get to where I’m going.

I live in SoCal and yea MT can be a PITA, but once you learn how to creep in first gear and realize you don’t have to keep the clutch in all the time, it’s really not that bad.

Likely covered already but I’m reading this from my phone and I have no desire to go through the whole thread.
Some of us grew up on Manuals; that was all that was around.
Now that our FEET have aged and stop-n-go traffic is 10 fold worse, you can have that clutch pedal all you want.

Yeah pre COVID I was doing the Bay Area commute with a manual. Granted that was with an old Chevy sm465 which has a wayyyy lower gear ratio than any Tacoma except maybe in 4lo. I could put it in first and walk home faster.
