Well, this happened about... 3-4 months back, before I started really posting here. Me and a friend went out to put gas in his truck and buy some beer, (mind you, this is in January, late Jan.) We come down the hill off of Rt. 6 just past the VFW hall heading towards Port Jervis (NY), there's a Chevy Trailblazer smashed to hell off the side of the road and several other cars around it. We pull over, go check it out.. this woman hit black ice and smashed into a tree, the truck took most of the impact, but she got banged up pretty bad.. couldn't tell for sure but I think she fractured her wrist and possibly one of her ankles.

Everyone else was milling around, one guy was trying to give directions to the 911 operator, so me and my friend got everyone out of the way, got the woman a couple blankets to keep her as warm as possible, and then he kept her awake and talking while I gave the operator a better location. We switched off, he flagged down the NYSP and EMS while I kept her talking. Anyway.. after all this happened, I came to realize about 6 hours after the incident, I went to school with her. Thought that was just... strange/odd.. but I did feel pretty good about helping her out. :)

Not sure what would've happened if she had dozed off, but I know enough from reading some and talking to those with some training that having someone fall asleep after that bad of an accident usually doesn't result in good things. So, yeah it does feel good.
