we have about 50 hilux at work, imported from toyota overseas for the us government. theyre cool but are smaller than our tacos. they also have less towing cap. do like the d4 turbo diesels though.

I heard there is a company in Texas that can convert a tacoma into a hilux some way or another. Don't know how true it is but heard it was quite expensive to do.

I see them alot around where I live. But have never seen a cool one. Usually small plain company trucks from Mexico.

Toyota Could truely make the tacoma a "mid-sized" pickup, and make the hilux thier "compact truck"

With the Turbo Diesel available in both models ;)

Mostly stock for now, I have added a cb radio, various cheap mods and I plan on adding aftermarket wheels and other items in the future.
Could anyone tell me why everyone is so into these Hilux trucks? To me, the only thing I like is the diesel engine. I think the truck looks cheesy and "soft". I think our Tacoma's look way better.

The Top Gear Hilux was cool though.

Yeah I am not a fan of the front end. But with a little work it could look good.

I would still rather have my Taco though.
