Anyone here with a 1st gen need a 28 tooth speedometer gear? If so pm me and I'll bring it. Free BTW. This came out of a 97 so not sure how well it will work in the 98 and up since the diameter was @ 1/16 in smaller but maybe worth a try.

Were you actually up on Trey Mt. or were you in the Mark trail wilderness side? they are on different sides of Hwy 17. Went up on Trey (FS Rd 79) back at the end of January. The back side of this road is real rough. A 2wd would go down it but not up (know this as a fact).

Just a few expensive & DIY things...

They physically closed the road with a gate right at Chattahoochee campground on FS 44. impassable...
as of last weekend (memorial day weekend 2013)

2wd would have absolutely no issue, all well maintained FS roads.
I'm 2WD and locked and had absolutely no hint of a need for a locked rear end at ALL.

IIRC fs road 44 has been closed for close to a year if not longer. I use to go fishing up there.

We got a full head count yet? I know I saw like 5 or 6 a few pages back. Is it more than that now?
