IMG_1439.png IMG_0226.HEIC.jpg Small write up to help others see what weights I experienced at the CAT Scales and with my own personal tools.

    The Setup:
2020 Tacoma Limited 4x4 DCSB (other than some little accessories and towing mods, its stock). The bed is fairly empty. Put the kid toys back there. Mostly everything is in the trailer.

    Curt WDH about 80 lbs

2020 Geo Pro 20FBS loaded up for a week in Mammoth for two adults and a kid. Always travel with just a little bit of water in the fresh tank in case someone needs to potty. Gray and black are dry.

    Scale Tools:
    CURT OBD2 Better Weight
    Sherline LM1000
    CAT

    The Weights
CURT OBD2 Better Weights puts tounge weight between 450# (quick weekend away) to 525# (week long trips). The CURT says total weight is around 9000# with truck only just above 5000#.

Sherline LM1000 can only measure tounge. Places tounge anywhwere between 500-525#. Once I filled the fresh tank just so I would know the impact, 36 gal. - 650#. Never travel like this.

CAT placed truck at 5200#. Total with trailer at 9540#.

Now here’s a question, does this mean my trailer weight is 4340#? I’m subtracting the truck weight from the total gross weight. GVWR is 4400#. Am I right on the edge then?

Hope this helps others figure their weights.

Doing the CAT was reassuring. Looking back I am impressed with the CURT OBD2 tool.

I tried to put images of other weight captures but browser seems to limit me to the two.

@Gocamping23 , according to your CAT Scale ticket, the trailer weight is 3840# and the tow vehicle weight is 5700#. The 5700# truck weight (steer axle + drive axle) includes the tongue weight. So, if you weighed the truck alone and it scaled at 5200#, your tongue weight is 500#.
