Those AI Chat responses can be completely wrong from what I have seen. I've seen people quoting absolute nonsense from them on other forums.

I don't believe there is any recourse for a private party as-is sale unless the seller intentionally mislead the buyer, in which case you might have a small claims court case, maybe. Proving the intent could be a challenge. The private party seller has no obligation to disclose any defects.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
This is a very valid point unless your on a 4x4 forum you might have no idea of the frame issue .

Then some can indeed be so clueless as to not understand they have a problem.

The real hard part is trying to prove criminal intent.

i am sorry Op but buying use is Always Buyer Beware .

If you want to be out from under it and you're sure the frame is shot, there's one way to find out how much it's worth, put it for sell on the open market stating: AS IS, noting the frame issue, for 10K OBO. You're likely to take a big loss, but you can move on. Don't part it out, once someone buys a door, you're stuck with a truck without a door and a storage problem. And don't feel like an idiot, it's only 10 grand, not 40/50. Consider it one of life's lessons.

Yes they are called hallucinations. There was a lawyer who I think is getting disbarred because he used it and it gave fake information that he didn't check and used in trial.

I use chatGPT for work every day. I find that it rarely give wrong information and almost always gives useful information. I consider it a rough draft.
