Get one. They are super cheap (~$50) and super easy to install.

Noticed that myself, if i let off and the engine brakes a bit the temp tends to rise. Soon as i get back to speed it drops back off.

Every day highway driving 165 f out of both converter and pan. On the beach and trails I’ve seen 285 f converter, 220 f pan.

Cruising on the highway I see around 140. Around town or driving in the hills I see around 160-170. Those numbers don't worry me but towing an aluminum drift boat up some grades I've seen it shoot up to 210.

It's on my list. I want to do the Champion Aluminum radiator and Hayden 678 tranny cooler at the same time.

My 4Runner got up to the mid 220's (less than a few minutes) towing my 4000# travel trailer up some first gear hills this summer. That was without a tranny cooler. Trans temp light didn't come on or anything, but I'm still going to throw an aux cooler on it. Can't hurt.

Why the radiator? These things don't really have a problem overheating or anything. The pink milkshake thing is not as prevalent as you might think.

Pink milkshake always lingers in the back of my head. I really have no problems with water temps. They range from 184-190 in pretty much all conditions.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Why do these things run so hot? The 10 speed in my semi pulling 65 tons doesn't really ever get above 200-210, hard to believe a Tacoma can manage that with just general driving!

You mean trans temps? It’s just now gotten in the 80s here and mine is yet to get over 175 in normal driving. That seems pretty good, I’m guessing it’s cause the lower rad is the only cooler and it can only do so much.
