If you want to use your phone and something like a bluetooth OBD2 reader, another option is a phone app like Torque Pro, OBDFusion, Carista, etc etc. Lots to choose from in that segment but some are better than others for specific purposes. If you want REALLY BIG gauges you could do this but mount an iPad/tablet somewhere near your dash. Flexible option but not for everyone.

Scan Gauge and Ultra Gauge are popular all-in-one type products. Pretty foolproof. I recall a thread somewhere talking how some can't read transmission temps but maybe that is a thing of the past (you'd have to search on it, I don't know where it is or have one of these to know enough).

I have a Pioneer headunit that is combined with a Maestro RR to keep steering wheel controls. A side benefit is that I can read tire PSI and OBD2 data on the headunit as well. You can do similar things with Android-style headunits (Joying, Atoto, lots of other very "genuine" sounding names of brands and products). Works well for convenience, not as powerful as other options.

Those 3 choices probably cover 99% of what you will find but I am positive other things exist that I am either not aware of or simply don't care about because they are beyond what I need. So don't take my word for it, search around and you'll find more.

So currently I have an android tablet mounted on my expedition essentials dash mount on a ram cradle for my on x maps, wanting to tie an obd scanner into the tablet as well as I only use my tablet for recording trips and marking campsite spots. I also have a jvc head unit that is android auto car play but by cable only which isn't a bad thing does the same features just not wireless. I don't know anyone with a scan Guage or an ultragauge but I've done a ton of research on them and both seem to be great im just wanting to keep it simple.
